Privacy Policy

Taesis provides the EZRecorder app (“App”) and takes user privacy and recording data seriously. This policy explains what information the App may process, why it is used, which third-party services may be involved, and what choices users have.

1. Information We Process

The App may process the following information to provide its features.

  • Recording data: audio files created by the user, file names, titles, durations, creation dates, recording status, recording presets, bookmarks, memos, transcripts, and AI summaries
  • Microphone input: real-time audio input required for recording
  • Location information: location-related information used to save the recording place when the user grants location permission
  • Speech recognition information: audio or speech recognition results when the user uses transcription features
  • AI note request information: transcript text, generated summaries, and token usage when the user requests AI notes or summaries
  • App settings and state: language, dark mode, purchase/token status, preset settings, widget display information, scheduled recording settings, and notification settings
  • Device and usage information: app launches, screen views, device information, and diagnostics that may be processed through Firebase Analytics
  • Apple Watch sync information: recording files and file metadata transferred through WatchConnectivity

2. How We Use Information

Information is used for the following purposes.

  • Providing core features such as audio recording, storage, playback, lists, and calendar views
  • Providing recording presets, widgets, Apple Watch recording, scheduled recording, end timers, and bookmarks
  • Saving user-requested details such as recording location, memos, transcripts, and AI summaries
  • Supporting iCloud storage/sync and App Group state sharing for widgets
  • Understanding usage, improving stability, analyzing errors, and improving features
  • Responding to inquiries, operating the service, and preventing misuse

3. Storage and Retention

Recording files and related metadata are stored by default on the user’s device and in the App database. If the user chooses iCloud storage or sync, selected files or settings may be stored in the user’s Apple iCloud account and iCloud Drive.

When users delete recordings, transcripts, memos, or AI summaries in the App, they are removed from App data. Files stored in iCloud may also be managed separately through the user’s iCloud settings and deletion actions.

Scheduled notifications, app settings, and token status may be stored on device, in App Group UserDefaults, or in iCloud Key-Value Store for as long as needed to provide the relevant features.

4. Third-Party Services

The following third-party services may be used to provide App features. Each service processes information under its own privacy policy.

  • Apple iCloud: storage and sync for selected recording files and some settings
  • Apple Speech Recognition / SpeechAnalyzer: speech recognition processing when the user uses transcription features
  • Google Gemini API: transcript text processing when the user requests AI notes or summaries
  • Google Firebase Analytics: usage analytics such as app launches and screen views
  • rynyul.com server: AI feature configuration and related request handling

5. Permissions

The App requests iOS permissions when needed for specific features. Users can change permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

  • Microphone: required for recording.
  • Speech Recognition: required for transcription.
  • Location: used to save the recording place with a recording file.
  • Notifications: used for requested alerts such as scheduled recording and recording start/end notifications.
  • iCloud: used to store or sync selected recordings or settings when enabled by the user.

6. Sharing

Taesis does not sell users’ recording files or transcript contents. However, when users choose features such as iCloud, AI notes, transcription, or Apple Watch sync, data required for those features may be transmitted to Apple, Google, or service servers.

Information may also be processed where required by law, to resolve disputes, or to protect the service.

7. User Choices and Deletion

Users can edit or delete recording files, memos, transcripts, and AI summaries in the App. To remove all local App data from a device, users can delete the App.

Files stored in iCloud can be deleted through the App, iCloud Drive, or device settings. Users can disable microphone, location, speech recognition, and notification permissions in iOS Settings.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a guardian believes a child’s personal information has been handled inappropriately, please contact us and we will review the matter.

9. Security

Taesis works to minimize unnecessary collection and process data only as needed to provide App features. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage method is completely secure. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in recordings or transcripts when possible.
