Effective Date: May 9, 2026
Interval Running (hereinafter referred to as the "App") values your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App uses, for what purpose, and how your information is protected.
This App is a local storage-focused running app that does not require separate membership registration, use its own servers, or employ advertising SDKs. Your workout records and settings are stored locally on your device by default.
The App uses Google Firebase SDK (Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics) for quality improvement, usability analysis, and error flow tracking. Through the use of Firebase SDK, some app usage and device information may be transmitted to Google.
The App may store or use the following information within the device to provide its services.
| Category | Items | Purpose of Use |
|---|---|---|
| Workout Records | Date and time, duration, distance, average speed, estimated calories, interval phases, sets, workout title | To save workout records, display completion screens, and provide weekly/monthly reports |
| Location Information | GPS-based location, distance traveled, speed, pace-related data | To measure distance and pace during runs, and calculate phase-specific records |
| Physical & Settings Info | Weight, height, gender, daily/weekly/monthly goals, theme, language, audio/haptic settings | To estimate calories, manage goals, and personalize the app environment |
| Plan Information | Saved interval routines, favorite plans | To quick start and manage custom running routines |
| Permission Status | OS permission status such as location and notification permissions | To provide permission guidance and indicate proper feature functionality |
| Sensor Information | Device sensor-based movement estimation | To assist in estimating distance/movement when GPS is unstable |
| Analytics & Error Info | App launch, screen views, button clicks, feature usage, approximate device/OS info, app version, event timestamp, non-identifying ad ID or app instance ID, crash logs, etc. collected by Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics | To improve app quality, analyze feature usability, and track crashes and errors |
The App does not use microphone recording, contacts, photos, camera, or calendar information.
The App uses the above information solely for the following purposes:
The App does not sell your information to third parties. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are used strictly for app quality improvement, usability analysis, and crash reporting, and are not used for ad targeting or tracking users across other apps/websites.
The App may use location information to calculate the distance traveled and pace during a run. Location information is only used when the user starts a workout and has granted location permissions.
The App may use location information in the following situations:
Location information is stored locally on the user's device by default, and the App does not transmit location information to its own servers.
Users can change or revoke location permissions at any time in their device settings. If location permissions are not granted, some features such as distance, speed, and pace tracking may be limited.
The App may request notification permissions to provide alerts for interval phase transitions, timer status, and workout completion.
Notifications are used for the following purposes:
Users can change notification permissions at any time in their device settings. If notification permissions are not granted, you may not receive phase transition alerts when the screen is off or the app is in the background.
The App stores workout records, user settings, and saved plans in the local storage of the user's device.
The App does not provide separate user accounts or cloud synchronization, and does not store personal information on its own servers. However, some app usage information for analytics purposes may be stored on Google Firebase services.
Information is kept on the device as long as the user uses the App. If the user utilizes the in-app record deletion feature or deletes the App, the information stored on the device may be deleted. However, if the OS backup feature is enabled, some information may be retained according to the user's device backup policy.
The App does not sell or provide user personal information to third parties.
The App does not use advertising SDKs, social logins, or its own server-based account systems.
The App uses the Google Firebase SDK for quality improvement and usability analysis. Accordingly, app usage analytics information may be transmitted to and processed by Google LLC and its affiliates' servers.
Examples of information that may be processed by Firebase include:
As a rule, the App is designed NOT to directly transmit the user's name, email, phone number, exact location paths, or raw workout route data via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics.
The way Google Firebase handles personal information follows Google's policies:
However, OS features or platform services used by the App may operate according to Apple or Google policies. For example, location permissions, notification permissions, and app backup features depend on the user's device and platform settings.
The App uses the following external services to provide analytics features.
| Delegate/Service | Purpose | Information that may be processed |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics) | App usability analysis, quality improvement, crash and error flow tracking | App usage events, crash logs, app/device environment info, non-identifying analytics identifiers |
Information processed through Firebase may be stored or processed on Google's global infrastructure and may be transferred outside of the user's country/region.
If cloud backups, account features, or other analytics/reporting tools are added in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and, if necessary, notify you of the delegated processing.
Users have the following rights:
If you revoke permissions or delete data, some features may be limited.
Analytics and crash log data, such as Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, are generally processed in a form that does not directly identify individuals. You can restrict future analytics data collection by deleting the App or changing device settings. However, it may be difficult to delete already aggregated or de-identified analytics data on an individual user basis.
The App does not intentionally collect personal information from children. Users under the age of 14, or the age considered a child in their respective country/region, must use the App under the guidance and consent of a guardian.
If a guardian wishes to request the deletion of a child's information, they can contact us using the information provided below.
The App adheres to the following principles to protect your information:
However, the level of local data protection may vary depending on device loss, OS backup settings, and the device's own security status. We recommend maintaining device locks and OS security settings.
This Privacy Policy may be modified due to changes in app features, laws, or platform policies.
If there are significant changes, we will notify you through in-app notices, store descriptions, or other appropriate methods.
